Landi Kotal in Pakistan is the highest point on the celebrated Khyber Pass, a prominent route across the mountains from the near-border city, Peshawar. Landi Kotal is quite a popular tourist destination, often traveled by train, to or from Afghanistan.

It is the living place for clans of the Afridi tribe, namely Zakha khel (as common) Wali Khel, Sultan Khel, etc. Its people live totally in villages built on mountains. Two large villages are Zintara (Chinar Kaley)---which is famous for a very long and tall wall built for ensuring its safety---and Ayub Kale, famous in the region for its modernity. It was constructed by a billionaire of Khyber Agency.
