Sargodha is the eighth largest city of Pakistan, 175 kilometres north-west of Lahore. It is called "Shaheeno Ka Shahar" (City of Eagles) because of the presence of the largest airbase of the Pakistan Air Force. It is an agricultural city, wheat, rice, and sugarcane being its main crops crops. The city and region are also famous for citrus fruit; kino is a newly developed variety.

Sargodha is connected to other major cities of Pakistan by motorways. Recently, local radio transmitions have also started.

Schools and colleges

There are many schools and colleges in Sargodha. The PAF (Pakistan Air Force) College, Sargodha is one of the best colleges in Pakistan. Other good colleges are the Government College Sargodha, which has now become theUniversity of Sargodha, Airbase College, Acme College, Suffah College, the Punjab College of Commerce, and Quid-e-Azam Law College.

There are a large number of good schools in Sargodha like, such as the PAF School, the Government Comprehensive High School, the Government Central Model High School, the Divisional Public School, the Progressive Public School, and the Ideal Public High School Sargodha. There are also the Government Jamia Qasim-Ul-Uloom High School and the Taaleem-ul-Quran Primary School.it is a beautiful city but govt are not trying to develop sargodha.
