Parker Posey (born November 8, 1968Parker Posey is an American actress, often referred to as "Queen of the Indies" [1].

Posey was born in Baltimore, Maryland to a Catholic family. Her mother, Lynda, is a housewife and her father, Christopher Posey, owns a Chevrolet dealership named "Posey Chevrolet" in Laurel; Posey's first name was a tribute by her father to 1950s supermodel Suzy Parker. Posey and her twin brother, Chris, were raised in Monroe, Louisiana and Laurel, Mississippi.

Posey appeared in minor roles in several major films of the early 1990s, including (1995). Throughout the late 1990s, she starred in a large number of independent films and was named , for which she received especially positive reviews. Posey is interested in pottery and is a contributing editor to the "Open City" literary magazine.
