Solna ) is a Swedish municipality in Stockholm County, in central Sweden, located north of Stockholm's city centre. It is a part of Metropolitan Stockholm.

Solna borders with Stockholm to the south, southeast and northwest; with Sundbyberg in the west; Sollentuna to the north; and finally Danderyd to the northeast.

There are two parishes in Solna: Råsunda (population 29,677) and Solna (population 28,317).

Solna is divided into 8 traditional parts with no administrative functions: Bergshamra, Haga, Hagalund, Huvudsta, Järva, Råsunda, Skytteholm and Ulriksdal.

Government

A legislative City Council with 61 members is elected by the citizens of Solna by proportional representation for a four-year term. It appoints an executive committee among its members, chaired by the Mayor.

The current mayor of Solna is Anders Gustâv, of the Moderate Party.

The Solna church was constructed in the 12th century. For defensive purposes, it was built as a round-church, and is one of few of that kind in Sweden.
