Taking Sides are a Hardcore punk band from Sydney, Australia. Formed in late 2002, the band quickly established itself as one of the leading members of the Australian Hardcore scene.

Combining an old-school sound with thrashy, guttural vocals, Taking Sides draw from a diverse range of musical influences, including the likes of Negative Approach, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles and Chain Of Strength. After signing with Sydney's Resist Records, the band released a well-received demo cassette in mid-2003, which was soon followed by their incendiary six-track EP,

An intense live set has seen the band play shows with the likes of Sick Of It All, Terror and Good Riddance, during which they have occasionally covered tracks by prominent straight-edge bands such as Floorpunch and Carry On.

Taking Sides broke up after headlining a last show in October 2005, with guitarist Wade going on to join Brisbane band The Scare!
