The Man Without a Past The Man Without a Past is a Finnish fiction film from 2002 directed by Aki Kaurismäki and starring Markku Peltola, Kati Outinen and Juhani Niemelä.
Plot After taking a train to Helsinki, a man is mugged in the park and severely injured in the head. He awakes in a hospital and finds he has lost his memory. He starts his life from scratch with Salvation Army clothes and friendship of the poor, kind people who help him make a fresh start. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2002 and won the Grand Prix in Cannes. |
